Starting on an old nylon guitar that his grandmother probably ordered from the Sears catalogue, Christian Durgin (Durg) taught himself to play the guitar when he was 15.  Immediately hooked, he became consumed with playing and singing, as well as writing his own tunes while living with his dad in the hills of western Maine. After high school, he attended the University of New Hampshire. There too, he spent more time playing guitar than attending classes. So by the spring of 1997, he dropped out of school, intending to make an album. But for multiple reasons it never actualized.  Struggling to make a living for three years without a college degree, dabbling in farming, he decided to hang the guitar up and go back to college. After graduating, he headed north to Vermont, where he teaches full time at an independent school. Ten years and two kids later, and after weathering a family crisis, he knew he needed to get back to his core—music. In 2012, he feverishly began writing songs with a new perspective and greater depth.

In 2013, he met up with bassist Michal Mancini and together they played as a duet.  During this time he continued to write more songs, with Mike adding his unique, colorful, melodies. In the spring of 2014, he decided that it was time to make an album. Hell bent on this, he began recording in July at a studio in Concord, NH.  With Mike on bass, he hired Drummer George Laliotis and electric guitarist Patrik Gotchez (of Pat and the Hats) to help carry out his vision.
